Overview

The Grants and Contracts Coordinator will be responsible for applying for federal and state grant funding and reviewing compliance of current grants and permits awarded to Parks and Recreation. The major objective of this role is to obtain grant funding, monitor permitted governance from GLO, US Corp of Engineers and other federal and state agencies.

Responsibilities

• Research and identifies potential funding sources including public, private, state and federal organizations to support funding needs and programs.

• Prepare, negotiate, and review company contracts, including sales, purchases, business partnerships with the City and ensure the city complies with the guidelines established by state and federal laws and ordinances.

• Stay up to date with legislative and local changes and coordinate with the legal department and intergovernmental government affairs as needed.

• Conduct audits to check for potential compliance issues

• Prepare grant proposals including authoring grant proposals drafts for management review, sourcing required for documents and obtaining approval from the City of Corpus Christi Leadership and Director of Finance or governing body as required for the submission of the grant.

• Prepare City Council acceptance presentation for the awarded grant acceptance and appropriation.

• Conduct workshops and training to support staff members to ensure proper understanding and implementation of grant compliance rules.

• Develop and implement policies and procedures to prevent non-compliance with grant terms and conditions.

• Performs other related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

• Exempt - Full-Time

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS)

• Two (2) years of experience

Licenses and Certifications

Required

• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Preferred

• Experience working with Grant Agencies

Basis of Rating

A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
