Job Description:
TITLE: Student Center Manager
DEPARTMENT: Office of Student Involvement and Leadership Development (OSILD)
SUPERVISOR: Kristie McNamara
SSTA APPROVER: Christine Pulsifer
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 4pm-11pm, Saturday-Sunday 12pm-8pm, and Special Events (extended hours)
POSITION LEVEL: Supervisory (Minimum Wage + $.50)
General Statement of Duties: Oversee the Student Center & Programs after professional staff have left for the day.
Responsibilities:
Assist OSILD with supervision of student staff in a particular work area (Living Room, Resource Room, Information Desk, and Office Assistants)
Oversees the Student Center operations when professional staff have left for the day.
Complete a manager report during their shift (includes reporting who is on staff, meetings/events going on, items broken in building, dirty areas, and patron count).
Make periodic rounds of the building and secure rooms that are not in use
Secure all money in the safe when the Information Desk closes or a student organization returns a cash box.
Remove unapproved postings from bulletin boards or on tables in the Student Center.
Serves as the primary point of contact for on and off campus groups using the Student Center.
Be a resource to all who use the Student Center and require assistance.
Secure the Student Center when the building closes
Opening the Student Center on Holidays and Weekends.
Responsible for learning how to operate the TV's located throughout the building, the portable sound systems used for performers, wireless microphones, PA system, and lights.
Maintain the safety and security of all Student Center occupants. Requirements:
Qualifications:
Good judicial standings as determined by the University.
Ability to react decisively and with good judgment to problems and be adaptive to changing situations.
Must be enrolled full-time (undergrad-12 hours/graduate 9-hours) in the current session to eligible for employment and hold a G.P.A. of 2.0 or higher
Maintain a reliable and dependable attendance record
Excellent customer service skills
Able to work independently and in a team setting
Basic computer skills including general knowledge of all microsoft office programs.
