Our client is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join our engineering team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, they'll use their technical expertise to lead work across multiple engineering teams and help guide the evolution of our online store experience. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of experience leading teams and managing other engineers.

What you'll be responsible for:

Working closely with other engineering leaders, product managers, and business stakeholders to define team roadmaps, assess technical feasibility, and drive planning and implementation of various customer-facing initiatives across the stack

Leading by example to ensure the high quality and on-time execution of multiple simultaneous projects

Driving strategy and an intentional decision making that balances support of high priority business goals while minimizing technical debt

Serving as both a resource and mentor to empower your reports and other engineers to own and execute on their work, and navigate their professional development

Evolution of org-wide process improvements in service of e ffi cient execution and high quality site experience

What you'll bring:

t least 8+ years of software engineering experience, and 5+ years in a leadership role

Proven track record of managing and leading engineering teams in a fast-paced, e-commerce environment.

Familiarity with modern programming languages and frameworks (Preference for Next.js, GraphQL,TypeScript, and Kafka)

desire to solve complex problems in the most simple and e ffi cient ways possible

n appreciation for mentoring other engineers through thoughtful code and architecture reviews, sharing best practices, and being equally ready to dive into the code yourself.

n ability to reevaluate anchors and in doing so weigh tradeo ff s, risks, and rewards in using or changing di ff erent technologies
