Job Description
Summary/Objective
The Process Technician sets up and maintains injection molding machines to ensure optimum operating efficiency. The role also provides support to the execution of the production/try-out schedule and applies knowledge of molding machine setup and operating techniques.
Essential Functions
Reads operating logs to identify inoperative injection machines, determines reasons for machine malfunctions, and arranges for machine repair.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop.
Reviews time and production records.
Start all mold changes and verifies machine is running at standard cycle time and is producing product at the same level as indicated by the previous runs first and last shot.
Report to Supervisor any difficulties or problems requiring special attention.
Responsible for the accurate completion of Process Verification, Tool Reports and Mistake proofing Check sheets as required.
Responsible for maintaining the appearance of all Thermolaters, Robot Control Stations, DME units etc.
The quality of the product meets current standards as defined by the first and last shot.
Must insure that the molding machine and all auxiliary equipment are operating safely and efficiently
All issues of non - conforming are documented.
Machine start-ups and/or mold changes.
Troubleshoot machine, mold and material problems.
Ensures proper care of all equipment especially managing the proper disposal and recording of all purging’s.
Follow all OSHA and safety rules and regulations.
Maintains adherence to company policies, safety/ergonomic standards, and good housekeeping practices.
Comply with all Environmental Requirements and Policies
Report all Environmental incidents to immediate supervisor
Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
