Manufacturing Operator in Middletown, VA
Job Summary:
A warehouse worker in a distribution center is responsible for various tasks related to the receiving, organizing, and shipping of goods. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Unloading: Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them in assigned places.
Inventory Management: Sort, organize, and store inventory in the proper location. Perform regular inventory audits to ensure stock is physically present and in good condition.
Shipping: Pack goods in shipping containers, develop mailing labels, and ship items in a timely manner. Load trucks for outgoing shipments.
Inspection: Inspect products for damages and report any issues to management.
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain warehouse equipment and machinery, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Safety and Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
Documentation: Process paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments. Use RF scanners to ensure all inventory is accounted for and accurately logged into the system.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the distribution team to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
Qualifications:
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items and work on your feet for extended periods.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow standard operating procedures.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with warehouse machinery and equipment. Basic computer skills for inventory management.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety and health regulations in a warehouse setting.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
Certification to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.43/hr.
