93-638Job Summary Maintain and install network services for the ongoing operation of Tribal business.
Provides advanced support to computer users who need assistance with software, hardware, network connections, peripherals, databases, telephone systems, and a wide range of IT services.
Essential Functions Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voice mail, email, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software and other computer-related technologies Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve problems with applications, networking, hardware and telephone systems Maintain computer networks and systems including software, VPNs, routers and other physical hardware Administer Network design and security, and build network configurations and connections Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access Work with the Systems Manager and other staff as necessary to document common problems and solutions to help reduce preventable calls, and attend staff meetings and training as required Create domain and email accounts Participate in deploying client configurations throughout the computer network system, a process requiring detailed knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and compatible business applications Prioritize and schedule work; escalate problems to Systems Manager as necessary Complete backups of computer systems, monitor for virus activity, and provide computer repairs Support database applications used by various Tribal programs It is the intent of this job description to highlight the essential functions of the position; however, it is not an all-inclusive list.

List Tools: Hand tools for working on computers Drives KIT or Personal Vehicle: Travel Local In-State Qualifications Education Associate's degree in computer science or a technology-related field, or a combination of education and experience may be substituted for a degree Experience Experience with network design implementation and troubleshooting Experience with rules based firewalls and Multi-vendor routing, switching (Cisco, Watchguard) Experience with computer hardware and peripherals, ancillary systems and devices Support of email security and endpoint protection client software Ethernet switching technologies (creation and support of VLANs, Etherchannel, Spanning Tree, etc.) Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 operating systems Experience with Microsoft SQL and other database systems Preferred Knowledge of computer & networking technology in both the wired and wireless fields preferred CompTIA A+ and Network+; Microsoft MCT, VMware VCTAm, VCP; Cisco CCT, CCNA Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities License/Certification Must have valid Alaska State Driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe policy Special Skills Attention to detail in troubleshooting, resolution and documentation Working knowledge of various information security frameworks Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, or obtain within 90 days Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful and kind when dealing with un'ina, visitors, co-workers and others
