Submarine Combat System Engineer
Key Role:
Apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. Perform work that links fleet and programmatic needs and commercial applications. Design products and build and manage parts and machinery requirements, improve the performance of products, and take advantage of advances in technology. Analyze the impact of the products developed or the systems designed on the environment and on the people using them. Work in testing, production, or maintenance by supervising production in factories and labs, determining the causes of breakdowns, and the testing of manufactured products to maintain quality. Estimate the time and cost to complete projects.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of experience with DoD systems engineering
Ability to learn and grow a combat weapons systems engineering skillset
Ability to analyze and process engineering program documentation
Ability to assess and update spend plans
Ability to develop, document, and implement new processes
Ability to analyze program risks and develop risk assessments
Ability to be proactive and work independently and within a team environment
Ability to travel to support the client approximately 1-3 times per year
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with NAVSEA or Team Submarine
Experience with U.S. Naval weapons systems processes and practices
Experience with the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical System (SWFTS) or BYG-1 submarine combat system
International Council on Systems Engineering: Associate Systems Engineering Professional (INCOSE ASEP) certification
Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) certification, such as SysML, MBSE, Agile MBSE, or OCSMP
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
