Job Title: Machine Operator, 20+, 2nd and 3rd Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to assist with the setup and operation of tandem rolling mill machinery. Responsibilities include installation and adjustment of rolls, threading up, conducting first piece inspections, welding, and general cleanup. The role requires the use of precision measurement instruments and the ability to perform basic shop math calculations. The candidate will set up and operate wire machines with minimal supervision, ensuring the quality of the product and making necessary adjustments to operating conditions.

Responsibilities

Assist with the setup and operation of tandem rolling mill machinery.

Install and adjust rolls, perform threading up, first piece inspections, and welding.

Utilize precision measurement instruments and a tape measure.

Perform basic shop math calculations.

Set up and operate wire machines with minimum supervision.

Change over equipment and ensure quality of product.

Make changes in operating conditions as necessary to produce quality products.

Perform necessary tests and measurements to ensure product specifications are met.

Keep accurate product data and records.

Correct or adjust any machine malfunctions immediately to ensure continuity of production and quality.

Report any major machine malfunctions immediately to the Supervisor.

Continually inspect products while performing other duties.

Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Assist in other duties as directed.Essential Skills

Machine operating and manufacturing experience.

Experience in machine operation.

Ability to read measurements using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.

Forklift operation skills.

Mechanically inclined.Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

6+ months of heavy manufacturing experience required.

Preferably 6+ months of machine operation experience.

Ability to read a tape measure.

Ability to complete all job tasks safely and work with a safety mindset.

Ability to lift up to 60 lbs throughout the shift.Why Work Here?

Once hired, contractors can earn up to $25/hr in the Operator Helper role within 4 years. Enjoy a $0.25 shift differential and be eligible for pay increases every 6 months. Performance reviews and potential raises occur every 90 days. Work Environment

This is a heavy manufacturing and labor-intensive position. The work environment is not temperature-controlled, being hot in the summer and cold in the winter months. Areas with induction furnaces can be particularly hot. Candidates must be open to working in a dirty environment and are required to wear steel-toed boots and safety glasses. Shifts are available across first, second, and third shifts, as well as flexible A, B, C, and D shifts, which offer a variety of working hours throughout the week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orrville, Ohio.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
