Job Title: Level III Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Level III Machinist to join our dynamic machine shop team. As a vital member of our production process, you will be responsible for metal cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring parts according to blueprint specifications. This role involves staging parts, loading machines with raw material, operating CNC machines, deburring parts, and performing quality checks throughout each step of the process. This is a mid-level position for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is flexible in handling various tasks around the machine shop.
Responsibilities
Responsible for production, quality, housekeeping, and other related duties associated with the operations.
Set up and operate CNC machines, transport material, and operate wash tanks.
Operate forklifts to move material around the facility.
Troubleshoot to solve everyday problems.
Float flexibly from one machine to another.
Conduct quality checks using gauges, calipers, dial gauges, and other measuring tools.Essential Skills
Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably around machines.
Experience running a machine in a manufacturing environment, CNC preferred.
Baseline experience with gauging and using quality measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and dial bores.
Proficiency in math skills, specifically addition and subtraction, to assess gauge readings.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
Experience performing quality inspections on finished parts.
Deburring experience.

Work Environment
Our machine shop is a large facility with over 500 employees split into five shifts, including weekends. The environment is temperature-controlled and adheres to a relaxed dress code, allowing sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, work pants, and jeans. Safety is a priority, with steel or composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses required. The facility is clean and organized, minimizing debris and ensuring a safe workspace. Employees are expected to adhere to policies regarding cell phone usage and listening devices, and maintain a clean and safe work area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr.
