Utility (Electrical) Technician

Job Description

Utility (Electrical) Technician performs routine tasks following standard procedures under supervision. This role is responsible for the operation and maintenance of electrical substation facilities, as well as associated measurement and control systems. Key responsibilities include conducting regular status checks, operating electrical switches (including circuit breakers, MCCBs, and MCBs), and performing equipment replacement and cleaning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Electrical Substation Maintenance

Check voltage, current, and alarms on high and low-voltage systems.

Do thermal imaging, visual checks, and partial discharge tests.

Inspect transformers and exhaust fans.

Control System Maintenance

Fix and maintain HVAC systems, boilers, and gas detectors.

Work on sensors, PLCs, alarms, and HMI screens.

Calibrate tools and instruments.

Facility Management

Keep substation areas clean and safe.

Record and update maintenance and inspection logs.
