Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist Lead to provide hands-on leadership and coaching to our team. This role involves cross-training employees, identifying value-added activities, and eliminating non-value-added activities. The Machinist Lead will assist in training new employees, ensuring quality production, and maintaining effective communication with team members and management.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership through ongoing coaching and cross-training.

Train team members to identify Value Added and Non-Value Added activities.

Assist in the initial and ongoing training of new employees.

Provide input in the evaluation and development of team members.

Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to solve problems.

Maintain communication with team members to convey concerns and ideas.

Fill in for team members during continuous improvement activities or absences.

Execute production schedules and monitor supplies and materials.

Attend department meetings to discuss customer requirements and quality.

Address quality concerns and conduct training sessions as needed.

Facilitate continuous improvement projects and maintain standard work sheets.

Ensure a safe working environment and maintain 6S standards.Essential Skills

Blueprint reading

Changeover management

Machine operation

Programming skills

2+ years as a Team Lead in manufacturing, especially in machining

Experience with CNC machinery and G & M programming

Problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Leadership skills and ability to train and mentor team members

Attention to detail and accuracy using measuring tools and understanding of metrologyAdditional Skills & Qualifications

The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $66560.00/yr.
