Job Description
Job Summary:
Primary Purpose
Responsible for the safe & quality operation and proficient understanding of downstream equipment and machinery including; palletizers, strapping machines, wrapping machines, forklifts, and overall flow of product. Operation of downstream equipment involves performing short-cycle, repetitive, and control functions in set patterns to attain high-quality production output that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Specific Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as trained during the various safety-related training programs. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and managers/supervisors. Properly uses all personal protective equipment. Knows and understands all machine safety procedures including Lock Out/Tag Out and General Safety procedures including Fire/Evacuation Accident Reporting, and all aspects of the Safety Contract, Basic Machine Operation, House Keeping Practices and GMP Standards. Has authority to stop machines/production to communicate machine problems and breakdowns to lead. Ensure the downstream equipment is always in safe condition, maintained, and clean. Understands the proper start-up and shutdown procedures for each piece of equipment (palletizer, wrapper, strapper, pallet conveyor, etc.). Ensure that all conveyor lines are free of blockages by being fully away of your surroundings. Report and maintains standard production objectives through proper machine operation and records hourly visuals. Inspects product for quality defects. Has authority to stop production due to quality issues. Maintains high housekeeping standards of all assigned areas. This includes applying Good Manufacturing Practices to meet plant goals and continuous improvement. Complete all required downstream paperwork and Real SPC tasks. Safely operate a walkie stacker to load MTP (pallets, top frames, tier sheets) into their designated locations. Safely operate a forklift to pull finished goods from pallet conveyor. Safely operate a forklift move materials (strap, wrap, etc.) and stack/store finished product. Sorts dunnage (pallets, top frames, tier sheets) to ensure enough raw materials are available. Report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team and production lead. Performs other related duties as directed by the shift lead, production manager, or plant manager.

This position reports to the shift lead.
Job Specifications and Requirements:
Education and Experience
Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Level of Authority & Authorization
Those employees with authorized training, have the ability to shut down / stop equipment if continued operation is a threat to any employee’s health and safety
Stop production for unacceptable quality or food safety concerns.
Quarantine out-of-specification products, materials or supplies.
Authority to make process adjustments.

Other Requirements:
Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values and enters this information into an on-line database accurately. A strong basic mathematical ability is essential.
Ability to visually distinguish visual defects.
Proficient hand/eye coordination to operate equipment.
Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgment calls based on the situation at hand.
Ability to efficiently and effectively use a computer and related software.
Ability to read and write in English.
Ability to work all shifts and required overtime.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently.
Required to stand/walk for up to 12 hours per shift on a concrete floor and is frequently required to do the following; carry up to 50lbs.
Bend, squat, kneel.
Must be able to climb steps and ladders frequently.
Reach overhead and outward with frequency.
