Position Summary
IANT seeks a dedicated, self-driven, energetic, and highly motivated Director of
Operations responsible for the effective day-to-day management of IANT’s facilities,
administrative operations, congregation relations, and fundraising efforts. The Director
holds a key leadership role and ensures that all services and programs operate smoothly
in alignment with Islamic principles and IANT’s mission to serve the Muslim community.
The Director of Operations reports directly to the President of IANT. All staff, except the
Imam and Resident Scholar, report to the Director.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in operations or facility management.
Minimum of three (3) years of operations management experience in a major U.S.
facility, ideally within a nonprofit or religious organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
Oversee and maintain the physical infrastructure of IANT and the IANT Quranic
Academy (IQA), ensuring safe, functional, and well-maintained facilities and grounds.
Manage all equipment operations, including HVAC, plumbing, sound systems, IT, and
AV equipment, ensuring timely preventive maintenance and repairs.
Work closely with the IANT Building Committee and Board on property enhancements
and expansions.
Inspect facility projects under construction, prepare punch lists, and ensure timely
completion before final payments.
Maintain organized records of all mechanical, electrical, and structural blueprints.
Ensure all licenses, insurance, and certifications are current and compliant.
Fundraising Support
Assist external fundraiser with fundraising efforts by supporting campaign execution,
donor engagement strategies, and maintaining donor databases.
Collaborate with the accounting team to generate financial reports related to
fundraising.
Support grant applications, sponsorships, and partnerships to advance IANT initiatives.
Ensure transparency and compliance in financial record-keeping for donations and
endowments.
Equipment and Vendor Management
Monitor daily operations of all equipment and coordinate repairs with contracted
technicians.
Manage scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain detailed maintenance records.
Negotiate contracts with service providers and ensure compliance with safety
regulations.
Develop and maintain a competitive purchasing system requiring multiple bids for
significant expenses.
Maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure secure storage to prevent loss or damage.
Approve vendor invoices after verifying accuracy and quality of goods/services.
Collaborate with other Islamic Centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to optimize
purchasing costs for high-volume items and technical services contracts.
Routine Operations
Conduct daily multiple inspections of IANT and IQA properties to ensure safety,
cleanliness, and maintenance.
Manage event bookings, prevent overbooking, and oversee setup and cleanup for all
functions.
Ensure all electrical equipment
and lighting are appropriately managed according to
occupancy and schedule.
Monitor property security, including night shift closing procedures and parking lot
usage.
Maintain professional communication with all stakeholders, ensuring no unresolved
complaints.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure all areas of the property meet safety standards and pass city, fire, and building
inspections.
Maintain inviting landscaping and sprinkler systems year-round.
Prepare and implement emergency response manuals and manage injury reporting and
follow-up.
Be physically present during emergencies to assist safety teams and local authorities.
Personnel Management
Serve as a role model by adhering to IANT Employee Handbook guidelines.
Exhibit strong motivation, multi-tasking ability, and a proactive work ethic.
Recruit, coach, motivate, and evaluate staff, striving to retain top performers.
Manage payroll, attendance records, and employee relations in compliance with labor
laws and organizational policies.
Provide monthly performance reports and updates to the IANT Board, including
recommendations for improvement.
