St. Philip Neri School, located in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood, seeks a passionate and dedicated Spanish teacher to join our school community. With a targeted language curriculum, the ideal candidate will create an engaging learning environment and support students’ cultural and language development. Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons in Spanish for students in K-8, assessing student progress, classroom management and differentiation, and collaborating with staff and parents. Candidates must have a love for teaching Spanish and a commitment to student success.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with administrators to design and implement a cohesive Spanish curriculum for various grade levels.
- Deliver instructional language programs for students, including ELL populations.
- Monitor student progress using various assessment tools
- Serve as a liaison for communication between school and home
- Provide primary language support for non-English speaking students when appropriate
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and families
- Participate in workshops and in-services as required

- Ability to communicate in the Spanish language, verbally and in writing
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, verbally and in writing
- Ability to engage learners across a variety of grade levels and abilities
