Title: UI/UX Analyst
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid)

The UI/UX Analyst is responsible for establishing the overall application’s look and feel, as well as designing, communicating, and executing all user interface screens for each business requirement. The UI/UX Analyst directs the overall design and user experience for the delivered product. This role works closely with Business Analysts and Technical Leads in the delivery of solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
Understanding the project scope and working with the project team to ensure understanding of requirements, functionality, size, scalability, and usability of the IT solution within the objectives set for the project
Adhering to the project schedule while working with Business Analysts to examine existing business processes and systems to develop a full representation of the system’s interface design and usability by the business
Working with User Acceptance Test (UAT) Testers to conduct usability testing to ensure conformance with UI/UX best practices
Ensuring the appropriate resolution of critical IT issues, as needed
Participating in all requirements gathering meetings and/or brainstorm sessions with Business Owners to identify product usability concerns and desires
Conducting user interviews, research, observations and testing, as needed, throughout the course of the project
Developing personas, user flows/journey maps, and storyboards, as needed
Facilitating regular design meetings during the course of application development
Examining and analyzing current user(s) flow and process, pain points, and desires from a usability and visual standpoint to deliver proper solutions
Leading the overall visual design, usability, and accessibility of the product
Providing expertise and leadership to the project team through applicable design patterns, screen layout decisions, and usability testing
Serving as an advocate for the end user of the product, consistently working to improve the overall design and usability of the delivered product, as the budget allows
Creating sketches, wireframes, and mockups of user interface screens according to the requirements/user stories that adhere to applications and site standards, as well as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, including performing accessibility testing to ensure conformance to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Creating high-fidelity functioning prototypes when applicable/feasible
Reviewing wireframes with Business Analysts for business requirements and with Technical Leads for technical feasibility before presenting wireframe solutions to the business
Providing resources (checklist and toolsets) to assist the Development Team regarding UI/UX best practices, established coding standards, and ADA vulnerability remediation
Creating and facilitating usability tests with the intended users of the product and iterating screen designs accordingly
Actively advising Developers on accessibility requirements and vulnerability remediation
Position Qualifications:
3 to 5 years’ experience designing user interfaces required
3 to 5 years’ experience in user research required
Experience designing to a set of design standards preferred
Experience designing to accessibility standards (WCAG) preferred
Experience performing usability and ADA testing preferred
Education or Certification in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Visual Communication, or other related field required
