Duties
Serves as a principal IT Specialist responsible for performing analysis, consulting with customers, and purchasing or contracts for IT services, equipment, products, supplies, and property.
Provides technical and analytical advice to the other Engineering and Architecture Branch personnel relating to information management issues in the design, integration, and implementation of security systems.
Applies project management principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.
Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends hardware/software changes to various computer systems.
Provides consultation on all aspects of the IT program.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Basic Requirements: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience addressing IT issues related to server virtualization, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and network architectures, interpreting and applying IT policies, standards, and guidelines, and conducting in-depth analysis of complex issues involving performance and configuration utilizing network monitoring tools and vulnerability scanners to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
