Multimedia Producer

The Johns Hopkins University Krieger School of Arts & Sciences (KSAS) is seeking a Multimedia Producer within the Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) Instructional Resource Center (IRC) who will be responsible for integrating multimedia into the design and development of AAP courses. This role involves creating engaging multimedia materials, including video presentations, animations, interactive content, and podcasts, to meet the needs of AAP projects and courses. The Multimedia Producer is an experienced visual storyteller who applies editorial expertise and a creative eye to the production of video content that successfully promotes Johns Hopkins University and its brand. This Central Communications role includes responsibilities related to a project manager, producer, and video editor who can capture an audience by bringing to life nuanced stories about science, technology, and engineering in unique, quirky, and surprising ways.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Creates captivating video content aimed at internal and external audiences, including short-form, documentary-style videos produced for and regularly published online by major domestic and international media outlets (e.g. The New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, Huffington Post, Daily Mail, etc.).

Collaborates with broader production team to manage multiple video production projects from start to finish, often on tight deadlines.

Manages budget and deliverable deadlines associated with individual projects.

Manages client consultation, needs assessment and metrics for success, development of concepts, treatments, and storyboards, script writing, field producing, interviewing, and editing of the final product.

Performs other related duties as requested.

Technical qualifications or specialized certifications

Experience utilizing video production equipment (cameras, lights, audio equipment) and post-production software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Tricaster, etc.)

Experience designing and developing AR/VR projects for clients.

Experience with common broadcast production equipment (e.g., network switchers) and protocols (e.g., AVOIP, Dante, Crestron, TCP/IP, NDI).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required.

Five years of experience filming, directing and editing creative, compelling video and photography content.

Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

In depth experience with video production and post production.

Starting Salary Range: $53,800 - $94,400 Annually ($76,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp)
