Assistant Director of Logistics

The Logistics Division in the Office of the Arkansas Attorney General has an opening for a full-time Assistant Director of Logistics. Three to five years of logistics experience is preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license. The applicant will be required to oversee inventory management, which includes the location and storage of all office equipment. Oversees dispatching and maintenance of the agency vehicle fleet by monitoring activities and resolving problems. Responsible for scheduling any needed maintenance/repair. Responsible for office key inventory. Monitors inventory levels for all expendable supplies for the office. Ensures inventory supplies are available to all employees to assist with all work projects. Coordinates facility maintenance/repairs/custodial issues with building maintenance personnel. All other duties as assigned.

Summary

Coordinates and performs functions relating to the areas of property and equipment, office supplies, physical security, building maintenance and vehicle fleet management.

Functions

1. Oversee inventory management, which includes the location and storage of all office equipment. Ensures equipment is hand receipted at the user level.

2. Oversee employee usage of all equipment and ensures that it is available in a timely manner.

3. Works to build and maintain strong working relations with outside vendors in order to ensure that the office is receiving the best pricing on all purchases.

4. Oversees dispatching and maintenance of the agency vehicle fleet by monitoring activities and resolving problems.

5. Ensures that all vehicles are current on scheduled maintenance.

6. Responsible for scheduling any needed maintenance/repairs.

7. Point of contact for staff when questions/concerns about vehicles.

8. Ensures that all communication devices are assigned, maintained and inventoried through the proper channels.

9. Responsible for office key inventory.

10. Ensures that employees have access to any necessary areas for work related activities.

11. Monitors usage of keys to ensure high safety standards for the office.

12. Monitors inventory levels for all expendable supplies in the office.

13. Ensures that necessary supplies are available to all employees to assist with all work projects.

14. Coordinates facility maintenance/repairs/custodial issues with building maintenance personnel.

15. All other duties as assigned.

Dimensions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent computer, analytical and organizational skills. Preferred Excel knowledge. Must be detail-oriented.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3-5 years logistics experience or related field.
