What You'll Do:
Technical Expertise:
Demonstrates intermediate-level knowledge and proficiency in applying theoretical and analytical techniques to solve diverse problems and conduct in-depth analyses. Effectively breaks down complex issues into manageable components and performs the necessary analyses for each step. Understands the interrelationships between systems and components and analyzes and recommends improvements to business processes.
Leadership & Guidance:
Coordinates the activities of team members within the workgroup or department to ensure the completion of routine tasks. Executes engineering functions with minimal supervision from senior staff. Adheres to company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements while providing training and guidance to junior employees.
Planning & Organizational Skills:
Facilitates the collection of inputs needed for cost forecasting related to routine projects and improvements. Employs scheduling techniques (such as CPM, PERT, and flow charts) for budgeting and planning purposes. Takes proactive measures when project objectives are not being met.
Problem Solving & Initiative:
Identifies and addresses routine problems, often requiring additional clarification before analysis begins. Recognizes complex issues that exceed standard routines and actively seeks opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Communication:
Develops, reviews, and presents technical reports, including improvement requisitions, studies, and analyses, in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
Interpersonal Skills:
Actively participates as a team member and builds networks with peers both within and outside the organization. Identifies key stakeholders and utilizes informal networks to facilitate collaboration. Effectively resolves conflicts and fosters consensus.
Decision Making:
Makes decisions within established policies and procedures, impacting team operations. Recognizes potential risks and demonstrates the ability to draw logical conclusions based on available information.
Business Awareness & Characteristics:
Understands the organizational structure and specific responsibilities of their unit within the company. Familiar with the budgeting and approval processes, and proficient in utilizing economic analysis techniques for problem-solving. Develops knowledge of utility regulations and financing.
What You'll Get:
Engineer (grade 6) - $75,000 - $85,000:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET* - An Electrical Engineering degree is preferred
- Has typically acquired 2 or more years of related engineering experience
Individuals with a Master's degree in engineering from an engineering program accredited by ABET* may be considered for entry into the organization at this level.
Engineer (grade 7) - $85,000 - $100,000:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET* - An Electrical Engineering degree is preferred
- Has typically acquired 4 or more years of related engineering experience
Engineer (grade 8) - $96,000 - $115,000:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET* - An Electrical Engineering degree is preferred
- Has typically acquired 6 or more years of related engineering experience
Acceptable alternative is:
- 4 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*
*ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
Engineer (grade 9) - $115,000 - $135,000:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET* - An Electrical Engineering degree is preferred
- Has typically acquired 8 or more years of related engineering experience
Acceptable alternative is:
- 6 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*
*ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
