President, Singapore
Position Overview:
The President will provide strategic leadership and executive oversight for a leading container shipping company headquartered in Singapore. This individual will be responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, and sustainable growth across global markets. The ideal candidate must possess senior leadership experience in the maritime sector, specifically within container or liner shipping operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute long-term business strategies aligned with shareholder and market expectations.
Represent the company at the highest levels with customers, partners, regulators, and industry forums.
Operational Oversight:
Lead all global commercial, operational, and support functions of the organization.
Ensure efficient fleet management, network optimization, and port partnerships.
Champion digital transformation, innovation, and sustainability initiatives.
Financial Management:
Oversee the company’s P&L, budgeting, and capital investment strategies.
Ensure financial targets are met or exceeded while managing risks effectively.
Talent and Organizational Development:
Build and lead a high-performance executive team.
Foster a strong corporate culture focused on safety, integrity, accountability, and collaboration.
Governance and Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all international maritime laws, trade regulations, and internal corporate governance.
Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities in Singapore and abroad.
Qualifications:
Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in the shipping industry, with at least 5 years in a C-suite or senior executive role.
Proven track record in container or liner shipping, including vessel operations, trade management, or global logistics.
Strong financial and commercial acumen with P&L responsibility.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
