JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Nurse performs assorted and various medical duties depending on the certification of the individual and their placement within the company. Staff with the specific job title of Nurse are Licensed Vocational Nurses or Registered Nurse. Reports to the Executive Clinical Advisor and Nursing Supervisor.

Active and Current CA LVN or RN license.
Proficient multi-tasking capabilities with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
Ability to maintain positive and friendly interpersonal relationships with coworkers from various departments and backgrounds, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Knowledge of clinical and medical terminology as it relates to the delivery of clinical care to the clients within our programs.
Innate knowledge of the clinical, medical, and miscellaneous services provided to the clients.
Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks in various administrative areas as well as being a primary liaison to various insurance carriers and their policy representatives
Must manifest a thorough knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Quickbooks, CollaborateMD, Gsuite products, maintaining and organizing various managers schedules.
Excel at both written and verbal communications, able to send emails and communicate in a professional, appropriate tone to convey essential information; must be able to utilize the proper linguistic syntax and spelling.
Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment, including telephones, computers, copy machines, fax machines, calculators scanners, and shredders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action.
Essential nursing duties for clients, including but not limited to:
Managing prescribed medications, noting times and amounts on patients' charts.
Provide basic patient care or treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures.
Sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides, sterilizer, or autoclave.
Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions.
Maintain the integrity of the med/clinical record in the company EHR system, including the following:
Making sure all medical documents are scanned in a timely manner
Medication Incident Reports are addressed promptly and correctly
Charts are audited for medical record completion and accuracy
Make appointments, keep records, and/or perform other clerical duties.
Inventory and requisition supplies, instruments and medications and medication samples.
Maintain confidentiality of patient records and reports
Document client histories, progress and other pertinent information
Comprehend, help develop, educate, advise and implement policies and procedures related to infection surveillance, prevention, and control activities
Comprehend, help develop, educate, advise and implement policies and procedures related to Joint Commission areas of
Medication Management and Infection Prevention and Control, and oversee the implementation by all staff of best practices in regards to National Patient Safety Goals.
COMPETENCIES:
Standards Compliance (Nursing-specific): Medication Management, Infection control
Directs, educates, and leads staff on standards of Medication Management.
Directs, educates, and leads staff on standards of Infection Control.
Evaluates staff on a quarterly basis with Direct Medication Observation and Medication Observation Competency.
Identifies common medication errors by monitoring incident reports. Trains staff on deficiencies identified.
Monitors infection control reports, provides direction on proper Infection Control to minimize the spread of infection.
Direct Patient Care
Observes, assesses, and provides care under the nursing scope of practice in regards to admission, discharge, and other medical needs.
Reports change in condition, adverse reactions to medications to ordering providers.
Excellent assessment skills, able to make critical decisions in emergency situations.
Ensures medication orders are being requisitioned from pharmacy in a timely manner.
Performs medical procedures, i.e: injections, first aid, emergency medication administration as ordered by providers.
Medical Documentation
Accurately charts medical events in appropriate client files. Includes education, interventions, and observations.
Documents in a timely manner.
Documents all verbal and written orders as received by the provider.
Audits medication orders for accuracy.
Program Knowledge
Expert level familiarity with the rules and guiding policies of AMFM Healthcare’s programming divisions.
Able to elucidate and train others on the specific rules for the operation of houses
Able to elucidate and train others on the specific rules for the clients and their schedules.
