Ashland, ME – FT/Days – Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

Job Description:

Hiring for a full-time Cleaning Technician to work for a well-established production facility in Ashland. Excellent daytime schedule and competitive pay. Benefits available after temp-to-hire period concludes. FT/Days; 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Saturday, Sunday, and two weekdays. $20.40/hr.

The Cleaning Technician will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the mill, as well as properly removing and/or disposing of debris and waste materials in a safe and efficient manner. Employee will clean industrial equipment, production areas, and support spaces, ensuring the site remains safe, functional, and compliant with workplace health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine cleaning of sawmill floors, machinery, workstations, and common areas.

Safely remove sawdust, wood chips, and other debris from work areas using appropriate tools such as brooms, vacuums, or industrial cleaning equipment.

Clean and sanitize surfaces to prevent the buildup of flammable materials or contaminants.

Handle and dispose of waste materials in accordance with site and environmental guidelines.

Follow all safety procedures and wear proper protective equipment as directed by site supervisor.

Report any maintenance or safety issues appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent education.

Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and/or standing for long periods.

Prior experience in industrial or commercial cleaning preferred.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Awareness of safety hazards in a sawmill setting (e.g., moving equipment, airborne particles).

Background check required.

Schedule: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Saturday, Sunday, and additional two weekdays.

Pay: $20.40/hr. Benefits available after temp-to-hire period concludes.
