Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic team in the trade show booth manufacturing industry. The Metal Fabricator will be responsible for reading technical drawings, cutting, welding, and assembling metal components used in custom exhibit structures and display systems. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship and an understanding of both functional and aesthetic considerations unique to trade show environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate metal components based on blueprints, CAD drawings, or shop sketches.
Cut, bend, and assemble aluminum, steel, and other metals using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery.
Operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG) to join metal parts with precision.
Ensure all fabricated parts meet design specifications and quality standards.
Collaborate with designers, carpenters, and project managers to ensure structural and aesthetic accuracy.
Perform finishing tasks such as grinding, polishing, and deburring to prepare surfaces for powder coating or paint.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
Assist in the loading, installation, or on-site support of booth components when needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in metal fabrication or welding preferred.
2+ years of experience in metal fabrication, preferably in a custom manufacturing or exhibit production environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong skills in MIG and/or TIG welding (aluminum and steel).
Familiarity with fabrication tools such as shears, press brakes, bandsaws, grinders, and drill presses.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience in exhibit or trade show booth fabrication.
Knowledge of modular systems and custom framing solutions.
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
Work Conditions:
Shop environment with occasional exposure to loud noise, dust, and metal fumes.
May require occasional overtime or weekend work during peak trade show seasons.
