Summary:
The Audio Engineer (Monitors) is responsible for providing the highest quality in broadcast audio mixing for all those who need it. Must have a clear understanding of the limits and capabilities of the audio system. Must be able to work with other audio engineers to achieve optimal audio performance. Full knowledge of the console and the complete system is required. The Audio Engineer (Monitors) must be available to provide services, rehearsals, shows, and events as requested, unless specified or otherwise agreed upon.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:Sundays
Set up and prepare Monitor audio equipment for worship services.
Operate audio consoles and equipment as needed.
Support other audio engineers on the audio team as necessary.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues that arise.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Production & Media.
Weekdays/Weekends
Participate in weekly music rehearsals.
Operate audio equipment for other church wide events, including Christmas Production and revivals.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues that arise.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Production & Media.
Competencies and Requirements:
Needs to be proficient with the following equipment:

Needs to be fluent with the following task(s):
Creating, recalling, storing, and backing up a show file on a Yamaha RIVAGE console
Patching via Twinlane, Dante, or local inputs
Basic and advanced troubleshooting of instrument patches via XLRs, DI Boxes, Subsnakes, Floor Boxes, etc.
Advanced knowledge of EQing, gain staging and structuring, compressors/gates, use of premium dynamic plugins (multiband compressors, source enhancers, etc.), delay adjustment, etc.
RF Coordination of multiple Shure Wireless channels in a live setting and troubleshooting any RF issues that may occur in real time.
Troubleshooting signal flow of various passive and active floor monitors, understanding speaker wiring and mechanics
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests simultaneously in order of importance to the overall production (clergy, choir, praise team, minister of music, etc.)
Integrating additional band equipment/patches into our existing infrastructure from time to time for special events
Troubleshooting and managing Shure SBC charging stations and rechargeable batteries
Basic understanding and troubleshooting of network-enabled devices via network switches, CAT5/6 cables, Wi-Fi access points, etc.
Replacing, cleaning, and maintaining various types of wireless microphone capsules (SM58, Beta 58, KSM 9, SE V7 MC1, etc.)
Ringing out floor monitors and locating trouble frequencies/feedback in a timely manner
Qualifications:
High School Diploma. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in audio engineering, audio production, or a related field is preferred.
2-5 years of in-field experience
A heart for worshipping God.
Able to work in a team setting.
Have good communication skills.
Have analytical and computer skills.

Work Environment:
Work is performed in a church/community center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and dirt, sand, and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components and will be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Team members may be asked to work in multiple church locations. Working times will include irregular hours and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, which may vary depending on the church or representation of churches in the city or area.
Proposed Rate:
$1,000 Weekly
$400 per Service (2 Sunday Services) + $200 per Rehearsal (1 Weekly Rehearsal)
