Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED (course work in business or public administration, criminal justice, law, or related area is preferred) and two or more years of legal or court-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Requires knowledge of Legal terminology related to the area of assignment.

Practices and procedures of the Fulton County Court System.
General office practices, procedures, equipment, and technology.
Requires skill in delivering high-quality, customer-focused service.
Reviewing documents for conformance with procedural requirements.
Reading and interpreting legal documents.

Understanding, using, and explaining Court-specific computer applications to manage court processes, gather and analyze statistics, and create reports.
Performing general clerical functions; Identifying and investigating facts of a legal matter, resolving problems, and making decisions generating enthusiasm and support for program objectives and communicating effectively with coworkers, supervisors, legal professionals, and the public.
Examination: The examination will consist of an evaluation of education and experience, accomplished by analysis of the application.

Essential Functions: Processes legal matters ensuring conformity to law and established court guidelines; coordinates staff activities with those of other units or divisions.
Performs the duties of the next line Supervisor in his/her absence.
Responds to inquiries, by telephone and in person, from attorneys and the public regarding court calendars and procedures; responds to court orders, deeds, and other relevant documents in the court system.
Issues subpoenas, warrants and court summons.
Closes court-ordered cases; reviews weekly court calendar to ensure accuracy; examines court documents and responds to court order;. inventories and maintains court documents and records; ensures accessibility to appropriate parties.
Prepares and distributes filings and paperwork to appropriate parties; compiles statistical data and correspondence, composes and edits correspondence, researches data, and provides direction to customers and other governmental entities as needed.
Ensures records and documents are archived, purged, or destroyed according to records retention and destruction policies and rules; Enters data into court information systems.
Under the direction of the Court Supervisor, trains and mentors Court Assistants and Court Associates.
May reconcile daily financial transactions, prepare daily audit reports, and provide operational support as needed; disseminates information and legal documents to attorneys and other involved parties; certifies copies of legal documents in preparation of court proceedings.
Transfers court cases between jurisdictions, trains and provides support to new court clerks as required.
