General Description This is a semi-skilled position performing a variety of tasksincluding custodial, landscaping, building maintenance, equipment maintenance and irrigation maintenance, as well as performing routine preventative maintenance for mechanical equipment, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), and minor electrical and minor plumbing repairs.
This position performs a broad range of tasks that includes painting, carpentry, graffiti removal, andpool and splash pad maintenance.
Work Schedule: This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week.
Shift start and end times may vary.
Shifts will generally start between 6:00 am and 7:00 am and end between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
Weekend work may be required, depending on the needs of the Parks Division.

Even if every item on the job posting doesn't match your experience perfectly, we encourage you to apply and share how your skills and experience can best serve our community Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Perform Custodial Duties and Event Set-up/Tear-down * Perform daily cleaning of entire Lakeside building, including conference rooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, stairs and break rooms.
* Maintain floors, carpets, and stairways by sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing and mopping.
* Wash and remove blemishes from windows, light fixtures, blinds, mirrors, and walls.
* Clean and maintain rooms by dusting, scrubbing, and polishing shelves, furniture, fabric partitions, bathroom fixtures, ceilings and other equipment and appliances.
* Prepare Lakeside conference room for meetings by arranging furniture.
* Empty trash and recycling as needed/scheduled.
* Clean other Parks facilities as assigned.
Perform Routine Maintenance and Repairs * Maintain and repair door locks and latches, sealants, flashings, weather-stripping, and caulking.
* Repair furniture and perform minor construction, such as installing shelves.
* Paint and refurbish park signature signs.
* Replace window glass and screens.
* Install light switches, wall outlets and light fixtures.
* Maintain HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, fans, Variable Air Volume (VAV) devices, pools, splash pads and fountains according to daily, monthly, and quarterly schedules.
* Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems, including bulb replacement, Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFI) circuits, fire alarms, sound systems, and security systems.
Perform basic repairs of electrical system components and indoor and outdoor low voltage lighting.
* Perform daily painting as needed for graffiti removal and painting projects.
* Maintain and troubleshoot indoor and outdoor water features and irrigation systems, including pumps and filters.
Perform blowouts and winterize systems/equipment.
* Install and remove piers, boat launches, and mooring field annually.
* Clean and maintain floors.
Miscellaneous * Remove snow at Parks facilities, as needed.
* Perform other related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of experience performing varied custodial, building maintenance, or repair workincluding the use oftools, equipment, supplies, and materials common to this work.
* OR- One (1) year of experience performing varied custodial, building maintenance, or repair workincluding the use oftools, equipment, supplies, and materials common to this work AND; Technical diploma in an Industrial Maintenance/Mechanic or related program.
* OR- Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance/Mechanics or related field AND; Familiarity with: Common hand and power tools utilized in building maintenance.

Special Requirements * Possession of a valid Driver's License.
* Certified Pool Operator certification within one (1) year of starting employment.
* Maintain minimum acceptance rate of 50% or better on all winter season snow, ice and or event overtime offered and 50% on all summer season turf, event support and or other maintenance offered overtime.
Physical Requirements: * Must be able to lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds unaided and up to 75 pounds on occasion.
* Must be able to work on a lift at heights of up to 45 feet.
* Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
