A leading aerospace organization is seeking a Structural Engineer 3 to support its Structural Analysis department within the Launch Vehicles division. The engineer will be a key member of a fast-paced, collaborative team consisting of analysts, design engineers, and program engineering managers. This position is 100% onsite in Chandler, AZ.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis for various launch vehicle programs using hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including both linear and non-linear methods.

Develop and present analysis results to internal management and external customers; prepare detailed analysis documentation for release.

Troubleshoot and resolve structural issues during design and manufacturing phases.

Maintain organized task tracking and report progress to management and the Integration and Test (I&T) IPT Lead.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure structural integrity and adherence to program schedules.

Design, develop, and implement test methods for both metallic and composite materials.

Provide structural design recommendations for high-temperature applications.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 10–14 years of relevant experience.

Proficiency with one or more of the following tools: Femap, NASTRAN, NASGRO, Abaqus, MathCAD, NX, Teamcenter.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Demonstrated application of fundamental structural engineering principles.

Experience in designing and analyzing Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

U.S. citizenship required.

Active Secret security clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in a STEM discipline with 8–10 years of experience.

Knowledge of high-temperature materials and structural testing for hypersonic environments.

Experience in structural analysis of composite materials, including carbon and ceramic materials.

Familiarity with fatigue and fracture mechanics, and experience with Fracture Control Plans.
