We are a high-end residential firm located in Los Angeles, CA. Our firm is currently looking for a Construction Superintendent.
This is a great opportunity to work for a Custom Estate Builder in the Los Angeles area. We are searching for a sharp and goal oriented candidate.
The Project Superintendent is the company's representative with the responsibility and authority for daily coordination and direction of the project so that it is safe, within budget, on schedule, meets the company's quality standards, and meets the customer's satisfaction. To accomplish this, the Superintendent must conceptualize a plan to construct the project and ensure that the daily and weekly activities are consistent with this plan.
The Project Superintendent and the Project Manager will work together as a complementary team. The sum of their combined effort is greater than their individual efforts. The project Superintendent can concentrate most of his or her time on the daily and short-range direction of the project.
Responsibilities for a GMP Superintendent include but are not limited to:
-Performance and/or verification of all layout before work is performed.
-Review and/or correction of shop drawings
-Ensure Subcontractor productivity by seeing all predecessor activities are completed prior to next milestone activity is scheduled to commence.
-Examination of each Subcontractors methodologies, formulation and completion of each activity at the start of each Project to ensure quality, safety standards and the construction schedule are met.
-Anticipation of conflicts in plans and proactive resolution of conflicts prior to the work being performed.
Superintendent Job Description
Daily Responsibilities:
a) Control and coordinate all construction operations on the job under Project Manager’s direction.
b) Check work's compliance with Plans and Specifications.
c) Jobsite safety.
d) Check performance of work in accordance with completion schedule.
e) Quality Control
Specific Duties:
a) Read and understand all plans and specifications. Bring up problems or discrepancies immediately.
b) Review subcontracts, (pay special attention to subcontract scopes and special provisions).
c) Conduct on-site subcontractor meetings.
d) Keep daily log
e) Keep drawings up to date and maintain As-Builts
f) Keep written and displayed "Run Lists" for each subcontractor.
g) Administration of all government agency inspections.
h) Purchasing when required.
i) Supervision and assistance with Layout and Survey.
j) Change Estimation in conjunction with Project Manager when required
k) Confirmation of material delivered and work performed.
l) Prepare Punch List in conjunction with Project Manager
m) Notify Project Manager and office 2 weeks prior to starting any subcontractor on job.
n) Notify main office of any sub-subcontractors on project.
o) Notify main office of name of any vendors making delivery to jobsite.
p) Check that subcontractors are using most current plans.

· Work under and pressure with time constraints
· Be a team Player - Communicate easily and well within your construction team (Project Manager and PE) as well as with others, like architects, subcontractors, owners/clients, on a daily basis.
· Must also be computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, & Internet Explorer); knowledge and familiar with Procore a plus; must have a clear understanding of construction paperwork:
