We have one role open for a research associate to join our Emerging Markets Equities team, part of our global Emerging Markets Equity Platform. Location: Singapore or Pune.
The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conduct research into publicly listed companies and associated entities in order to understand the business and industry, create detailed financial projections and provide insights into valuation.
Make strategy-appropriate investment recommendations based on a thorough understanding of key company, industry and market issues, and in the best interests of AB’s clients.
Engage in team-based problem solving, information sharing, and research discussions.
Collaborate with AB’s Responsible Investing team to actively consider and evaluate the environmental, social, and governance aspects of the companies we invest in.
Meet with company management teams, research providers, data vendors, industry leaders, etc.
Travel as necessary to AB offices, industry conferences, and to visit companies under research.
Collaborate with production of marketing and client communication materials.
Uphold AB’s fiduciary obligations, adhere to our Code of Conduct and uphold AB’s reputation as a representative with clients and in the broader industry.

Job Qualifications:
Be highly motivated and driven to achieve, with a record of outstanding academic and professional success in their chosen fields.
Have a bachelors or comparable degree, and 2+ years of business experience in finance, strategy or related areas.
Preferably have research experience in the financial services sector through equities research, management consulting, or direct industry experience.
Be able to demonstrate strong problem solving and quantitative skills, including experience modelling in Excel and in interpreting financial statements.
Have clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Preferably have experience living and working in an emerging market and interest in foreign economies, businesses and cultures, plus some fluency in a relevant foreign language.
Have the ability to work independently but also as a member of a team in a dynamic, informal and fast-changing environment. We encourage vigorous and open debate among members of our team in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Demonstrate a passion for ongoing learning and development.
