Lab Tester

Supports Valero’s mission, vision and values both verbally and in action.

Safely performs all standardized testing methods in the lab following documented procedures.

Understands expected test values and properties for sample points and products throughout the refinery.

Notifies the Lab Operations Supervisor of off-specification test results.

Monitors consumable inventories and notifies the Lab Operations Supervisor of deficiencies.

Processes, retains, and disposes of samples.

Understands proper labeling and hazard communication procedures.

Maintains work area cleanliness and housekeeping.

Cleans, prepares and distributes sample containers.

Completes an adequate amount of available overtime.

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum of three (3) years of petrochemical laboratory experience required.

Bachelor’s or technical degree preferred.

All successful candidates must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential). It is Valero’s policy that employees must wear this card at all times while working at the refinery. Please review eligibility criteria at
