Summary

Under the direction of the Operations Support Supervisor, and in accordance with company policies and procedures, the Inventory Specialist will maintain inventory accuracy through proper counting, processing of material reports and transfers. This is a pivotal role in the driving profit for the company and supporting the success of scheduling in Operations.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm, 8 hour days, 1st shift

Pay Range

$20-$22 hourly plus yearly bonus opportunities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

Perform daily cycle counts.

Monitoring and controlling inventory integrity.

Maintain product identification, location, and code accuracy.

Research inventory discrepancies.

Work with Operations management to resolve inventory problems in a timely manner.

Open cartons, bundles, and other containers to count items and/or weigh materials to determine quantity on hand.

Report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products.

Coordinate inventory counts and product movements with vendor managed inventory suppliers.

Perform inventory transactions in ERP system using proper procedure.

Maintain audit routines of other departments to ensure inventory processes are maintained.

Use measuring tools and devices to perform inspections.

Follows all safety guidelines assigned to workstation and equipment used.

Participate in the development of work instructions or continuous improvement projects.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Requires good oral and written communication skills to interact with employees.

Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings.

Must possess a high attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Must be able to read measuring devices i.e., ruler, tape measure, calipers.Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma /GED equivalent Associate’s a plus.

Requires 1-3 years of inventory control experience in a similar role.

Previous cycle count experience highly preferred.

Basic computer skills required.

Employee will operate various hand tools, power hand tools, machine tools and forklift.

Work Environment

Normal office and factory environment. Slight exposure to dust, noise, fumes, and oils is present.
