The Value Stream Leader coordinates an independent organizational unit (Value Stream) that, includes production departments, production scheduling, procurement and maintenance, (in order to create value for customers). In this sense, it must safeguard its performances in terms of safety, quality, efficiency and punctuality of deliveries in accordance with lean principles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Supervises hourly personnel as well as department planner in order to achieve production lead-time while maintaining high quality at low costs;

Provide leadership and support for the manufacturing operation ensuring that objectives concerning Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Productivity are achieved;

Scheduling of the production;

Ensure that the value stream meets both external and internal customer requirements;

Management of maintenance and technical and technological improvement of the lines of competence having regard to the processes, methods and equipment;

Collaborate with front line staff and functional stakeholders to facilitate meaningful and user-friendly solutions;

Promoting a continual learning environment; where cross training and employee involvement is valued;

Maintain adequate work force, make recommendations on hiring, terminations, relocations/transfers training schedules, advancements, suggestions, and disciplinary requirements;

Coordinate staffing requirements and cross training needed to assure that required personnel capacities are available to meet the required workloads;

Consults on strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals;

REQUIREMENTS

Basic knowledge of Lean methodologies;

Strong Supervisory skills;

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and information systems, Oracle plus;

Excellent organizational skills;

Good predisposition to change;

The ability to work collaboratively across a matrixed organization and with global partners;

Proven ability to foster a collaborative work environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises Operations, Purchasing, Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, and Maintenance, Production, Shipping and all needs inside the Value Stream.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

College level degree or equivalent experience in operations, manufacturing or related fields. Background in Business or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leadership role
