We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Headmaster at Classical Charter Schools of Southport located in Bolivia (Southport), North Carolina. We are seeking outstanding applicants to join our Administrative Team.
Classical Charter Schools of Southport is a K-8 school. This is a 12-month position.

Assistant Headmaster Job Responsibilities
Purpose:
The Assistant Headmaster assesses school-wide effectiveness by monitoring the implementation of curriculum and performance standards under the direction of the Headmaster. The Assistant Headmaster assists in developing goals and standards that support The Roger Bacon Academys instructional philosophy. The AH integrates data from school-wide testing programs and field observations into comprehensive needs statements for the assigned area of responsibility as a basis for the development of school-wide action plans to implement curriculum and program standards. This position includes the responsibility of assisting with compliance, discipline, scheduling, curriculum implementation, DPI reporting, and staff development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists the Headmaster in developing and implementing the total school program.
Assists to implement student orientation and registration activities.
Provides the Headmaster with timely reports on school areas of celebration and concern.
Assists with instructional professional development and providing direction to staff in implementing goals and objectives.
Serves as campus test coordinator and oversees all state testing and accountability.
Assists with curriculum adoptions, professional development, training and coaching.
Attends any DPI professional development sessions in the area of instruction and other sessions at the discretion of the Headmaster.
Assists to define and disseminate information about school disciplinary policies and procedures to parents, students, staff and community.
Promotes and maintains open communications, positive student attitudes, respects dignity, worth of staff, students, and complies with established lines of authority.
Assists the Headmaster in various areas such as but not limited to - personnel, budget, teacher placements/assignments, DPI teacher observations, and publicity events.
Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties:
The position of Assistant Headmaster reports to the Headmaster. Additionally, the position is a 12-month position.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelors degree in education with an extensive academic background in all content areas.
A Masters degree or current enrollment in a Masters program in educational leadership or similar is preferred.
Knowledge of or experience teaching using the direct instruction teaching method preferred.
Must be Continuing Status with at least three to five years of experience in a teaching role with additional experience as an academic coach or equivalent is preferred.
An effective communicator, with strong oral and written skills.
Physical ability to lift/carry 20 lbs and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.
