Premier Pump & Power is a family-owned manufacturer of industrial pumps and energy solutions. We specialize in large, custom, portable pump packages, and our products are renowned for their performance, serviceability, and built-in quality. We proudly serve thousands of customers from our global headquarters in Vancouver, Washington and our manufacturing plant in Houston, Texas.
We are looking for an experienced leader to manage our Inventory team. You will use your expertise to manage inventory, planning, shipping, and receiving in our Vancouver location. The Inventory team supports daily operations and ensures essential parts are organized, available and staged for our Assembly and Fabrication teams. You will define the benchmarks, standards, and operating procedures for your team to ensure those responsibilities are fulfilled and our goals are met.
You will report to the Production Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervisor and mentor, a team of 8 inventory team members.
Conduct performance evaluations that are feedback-oriented and constructive
Enforce company policies and procedures as it relates to the Inventory Department
Responsibilities
Direct all aspects of inventory control, shipping and receiving, production staging and materials storage.
Maintain accuracy of plant inventory, including routine and ad-hoc cycle counting to support accurate forecasting.
Maintain inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
Partner with production and planning and Purchasing teams to ensure the necessary parts and raw materials are delivered and staged on time to meet production delivery targets.
Communicate promptly with leadership. team, especially regarding issues which may affect the production department.
Oversee and participate in the stocking of parts; plan storage locations; space maximization; FIFO.
Make recommendations regarding proper storage, inventory, warehousing procedures, and efficiencies.
Serve as lead over assigned warehouse functions; train and provide direction and guidance when applicable; prioritize work assignments.
Communicate low levels, out-of-stock, supply needs to Manager.
Maintain the warehouse and yard in a clean, orderly, safe and secure condition.
Promote a strong safety culture
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment related to inventory tasks.
3+ years leadership or people management experience
Proficient in ERP/MRP inventory reporting systems (preferably NetSuite)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
Thorough understanding of 5S principles
