Employment Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 15 hours/week
Compensation: $16–$18/hour (based on experience)Position Overview
The Food Pantry Helper plays a key role in providing food assistance to individuals and families in need by supporting the day-to-day operations of the ICGC Food Pantry. This includes organizing inventory, receiving deliveries, preparing food bags, and helping maintain a welcoming, clean, and respectful environment. This position reports directly to the Food Pantry Manager and may evolve as the program expands and community needs grow.Primary Responsibilities
Receive, unpack, and stock food pantry deliveries
Organize and restock shelves using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory method
Prepare food bags for distribution
Maintain a clean and orderly pantry environment
Pick up Shared Harvest supplies monthly from Fairfield
Support food distribution events and attend meetings or training sessions as needed
Ensure adherence to food safety standards and organizational policies.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs (occasionally up to 70 lbs)
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to pass a background check and provide necessary documentation
Basic computer proficiency, including managing emails and entering appointment information into scheduling systems
Basic knowledge of data entry and database management
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a food pantry, warehouse, or community service setting
Familiarity with food safety and inventory best practices
Bilingual skills are a plus

Organizational: Maintain a structured and efficient pantry environment
Digital Literacy: Comfortable using email, entering information into databases, and performing basic internet research as needed
Physical Stamina: Able to lift, carry, and restock food items regularly
