Position Summary:
The Clearing House (TCH) is a banking association and payments company that is owned by the largest commercial banks in the United States. TCH owns and operates the core payments system infrastructure in the US and is currently working to modernize that infrastructure by launching a new, ubiquitous, real-time payment system. TCH is the only private-sector ACH and wire operator in the US, clearing and settling nearly $2 trillion in US dollar payments each day, representing half of all commercial ACH and wire volume. TCH has provided critical services to the banking industry since 1853, and today, our core products facilitate services including Direct Deposit of payroll, bill payments, and check image exchange.
The Security Officer assists with controlling access to the facility, screens visitors and employees in an efficient manner to expedite their admittance. This role involves monitoring the site for suspicious behavior, unlawful guests, safety hazards, and inclement weather. The person in this role receives and escalates, as required, all communication from employees regarding emergency and non-emergency situations. Additionally, this role is actively engaged during emergency events to provide safety to TCH employees and assets.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic TCH security training; may require certifications (e.g., life safety, AED, CPR, Fire Watch)
Certifications may be obtained after the hire date
Effective communication and customer service skills
Maintain physical ability to perform required duties during emergency events. (e.g., evacuations, fire drills, medical events, emergency response)
Ability to work during inclement weather events
Qualifications Desired:
Effective customer service experience and demonstrated skills
Experience interacting with security devices (e.g., badge readers, access control devices, Iris readers, CCTV, computers)
Intermediate computer skills to include Windows, Excel, Word, and internet
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Patrols and monitors premises to prevent threats to company assets, production, life safety, and ensures compliance with all company policies, procedures, and processes
Controls access to facilities by validating visitor enrollments, verifying identities of visitors, facilitating visitor enrollment applications, while providing an exceptional level of customer service to all
Responds to alarms as directed by the Security Control Room and assists with investigating a wide variety of security related events

Physical demands and work environment:
Work includes a combination of sedentary and active tasks for successful performance. These tasks may include, but not be limited to, monitoring security controls, escorting visitors, climbing ladders, standing for extended periods of time, assisting with emergency events, and performing guard tours to include interior and exterior checkpoints. The employee should maintain the ability to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs and heavier weight in the event of emergency evacuation conditions.
Additional physical demands include retaining the ability to complete fine motor skills, such as searching and handling equipment, while also maintaining physical fitness to remain capable of performing their duties without undue risk to themselves or others. This position requires the employee to take quick and effective action in case of emergency situations. The employee must be able to remain alert and focused for the duration of their shifts. The working environment is generally favorable. Slight exposure to mechanical-related hazards accompanied by noise, dust, etc. are encountered during guard tours or specific assignments.
Employees in this position will work a rotating weekly schedule that consists of set reporting times. The person hired into this role will work a 7pm-7am shift. Employees assigned to the NC facility will receive alternating weekend days off. Additional schedule information will be provided by Security Management upon interview or annual reviews.
