PotomacWave Consulting is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Support Specialist Lead to join our team supporting a federal client in Springfield, VA. The BI Support Specialist Lead provides hands-on technical and functional support for an enterprise data reporting platform. This role focuses on OBIEE/OBIA, ODI ETL processes, and Oracle databases, ensuring system stability, data integrity, and timely issue resolution. The position supports and guides the data warehouse and automation team, contributes to project planning and system improvements, and works closely with stakeholders to deliver reliable BI solutions.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot OBIEE/OBIA/ODI issues and respond to service tickets within 4–8 hours
Develop and maintain OBIEE Web Catalog and RPD objects
Coordinate and monitor report development and deployments
Ensure OBIEE configuration and backups are properly maintained
Assist with migration plans, weekly status reports, and stakeholder updates
Lead feasibility and requirements sessions with business users
Ensure compliance with CM policies and documentation standards
Design, document, and maintain ODI ETL processes and customizations
Support data modeling efforts and improve ETL backup/recovery procedures
Support Oracle database tuning, design, and security
Recommend improvements to data standards and performance
Maintain technical documentation and promote updates through environments
Coordinate OBIEE/OBIA upgrades with GFAL
Lead promotion activities and validate object readiness for UAT and production
Guide the data warehouse and automation team through deployments
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data and reporting initiatives

Participate in strategic planning and process improvement efforts
Serve as a technical point of contact for cross-functional teamsQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
Minimum 10+ years of experience with OBIEE/OBIA, ODI, and Oracle databases
Strong understanding of BI architecture and data integration workflows
Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning
Experience in Linux environments and secure authentication protocols
Strong communication, documentation, and project coordination skills
Strong team leadership abilities
Experience with OBIEE/OBIA, ODI, Oracle databases, SQL/PLSQL, ETL development
Experience with data modeling, BI architecture, CM processes, performance tuning
Experience with Oracle Federal Financials R12, Oracle APEX (Release 19+), Linux, SSO/ADFS
Must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining DHS suitabilityPreferred Qualifications:
Oracle or BI-related certifications
Techno-functional knowledge of Oracle Federal Financials R12
Familiarity with Oracle Application Express (APEX) Release 19 or higher
Experience using ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools
Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project management approaches
