Opportunity Snapshot:
Compensation: $60-72/hour
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 12 months+
Schedule: 9/80 / Friday half-day / in-office

Responsibilities
Facilitate project design and drafting to ensure successful completion of project activities
Assign equipment, instruments, valve tagging numbers, and piping line numbers
Resolve drawing development issues and draft changes to record drawings
Prepare process flow diagrams (PFD), piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID), equipment layouts, plot plans, and equipment/instrument lists for plant, pipeline, and related facilities construction projects
Assist in developing project scopes and scopes of work for contracts with third parties
Attend project meetings to understand customer needs and provide technical input
Review man-hour estimates and work schedules for project efficiency
Coordinate distribution of design packages to stakeholders
Provide design and drafting services for time/budget-critical projects and preliminary development of potential projects
Communicate with vendors for material quotes and availability
Create parts lists and material data sheets, and generate material requisitions
Maintain records of documents and correspondence related to technical design issues
Participate in developing and maintaining company standard drawings
Maintain expertise in design and drafting, ensuring access to specialty resources and technology
Develop and implement specifications and procedures to reduce costs in drawing and documentation creation
Coordinate with project managers, purchasing agents, inspectors, engineering contractors, and construction contractors
Generate Pre-Assessment Letters (PAL) for approval when required
Provide drafting for daily operations and coordinate with CADD operators
Provide guidance to enhance others' ability to obtain required information using departmental tools and methods
Qualifications
5+ years experience in the layout of process and mechanical equipment and associated piping design
Must have proficiency in Navisworks, 3D and Capital Works
Experience with pipe installation details and pipe supports
Ideal candidate will have experience with process mechanical piping systems, industrial waste and/or high purity water systems
High School Diploma or GED
