Job Title: Assistant Electrical Designer/Drafter

Job Type: Full Time – Hourly

Salary: $24-$34/hr. DOE

Location: Redding, CA

Unity Electric, a leading design-build electrical contractor for 50+ years, is looking for a full-time, in-house Assistant Electrical Designer/Drafter to add to our growing and successful team! The Assistant Electrical Designer/Drafter is responsible for assisting our Design Department Manager with drafting, design and revision of drawings associated with custom engineered systems for electrical and low voltage including, but not limited to, fire alarm, access control, CCTV and nurse call stations in the electrical construction field. Typical projects will include large mixed use/high rise residential, acute care hospitals, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, hospitality, commercial office and retail, light industrial, and occasional TI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide CAD & BIM drafting and design support for Design Department Manager during the planning and design stages of electrical projects

Assist with the development and maintenance of Design Master Library Components.

Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to translate mark-ups/sketches into drawings consistent with company standards; check drawings for consistency with standards and plot final drawings; correctly label final work drawings; update contract drawings and specifications.

Maintain standard drawing files and templates per company standards.

· Assist in field activities to gather project information as necessary.

· Perform additional duties as assigned by Unity Electric, the DDM, and Unity Electric’s senior management.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

2+ years of drafting experience and proficiency in electrical and or fire alarm engineering-based CAD and BIM drafting.

Must be proficient using MS Office, inventory software, project management software, and programmable logic software.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work on multiple assignments concurrently.

Must be able to work in our Redding, California office (this is not a remote position).

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

The latest knowledge of AutoCAD (2023 or newer), Revit, and BIM software.

Associate degree related field with AutoCAD and Revit training from a recognized institution.

Knowledge of NEC, WAC and NFPA codes and standards.

Experience working in the electrical field as an apprentice or journeyman.
