Our client a global financial services firm is seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Transformation Governance & Oversight to join their growing team. This role will lead a team of five professionals and serve as a key advisor and governance lead for complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives. You will work closely with executive sponsors, business leaders, project managers, and support teams to ensure effective execution and oversight of strategic and regulatory change efforts across the Americas Division.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction to a high-performing team of five, ensuring consistent execution of transformation governance responsibilities.
Act as an advisor and governance lead in transformation forums and project working groups, offering holistic oversight across regulatory remediation, strategic change, and target operating model implementation.
Develop a deep understanding of the business area's change portfolio and future project pipeline.
Guide project teams in designing and executing delivery frameworks, governance structures, project roadmaps, and execution plans aligned with strategic objectives.
Ensure project documentation and deliverables are complete, retained, and reflect change management best practices to support operational sustainability.
Lead assessments and challenge activities to identify and resolve project risks, issues, and dependencies while maintaining a view of cross-functional and regional impacts.
Facilitate periodic portfolio reviews to identify aggregated risks, interdependencies, and delivery concerns.
Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of project reporting, ensuring senior leadership receives relevant insights and metrics.
Support the development of project artifacts including charters, business cases, and executive-level materials to facilitate effective decision-making.
Champion the adoption of best practices in project, program, and portfolio management, and continuously improve governance standards, templates, and controls.
Qualifications:
5+ years in a leadership role within transformation governance, project management, or program oversight at a large financial institution or consultancy.
Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
Strong understanding of commercial and investment banking operations, regulatory frameworks, and financial products.
Effective communicator with experience presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex transformation initiatives and drive governance rigor.
Expertise in change/project management frameworks, tools, and continuous improvement practices.
Experience implementing governance and reporting frameworks across enterprise portfolios.
Knowledge of risk and control processes and experience with process mapping or reengineering.
Bachelor’s degree required; Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
