A renowned global research and development organisation specializing in advanced technologies and intellectual property (IP) for 5G, 6G, IoT (Internet of Things), wireless communication, and video technologies is looking to hire an Infringement Analysis Engineer to join their Licensing Support and Analysis team.
The successful candidate will become part of an international, cross-functional team critical to the company's patent licensing business. The primary focus will be leveraging strong technical expertise in Video Services technologies.
The Infringement Analysis Engineer will analyse patents, standards, services, consumer electronics, and other technical materials to identify potential patent infringements. Based on these evaluations, the engineer will prepare technical evidence for licensing purposes.
Responsibilities:
Develop patent claim charts and technical presentations to support video services licensing
Collaborate with patent strategy and prosecution teams to strengthen the Video Services patent portfolio, including participation in patent mining and review processes
Present cases to potential licensees during patent technical discussions
Work closely with licensing support project leads to create customized licensing materials for customers
Assist the patent enforcement team in identifying, evaluating, and understanding selected patents
Stay updated on Video Services technologies, industry standards, and technical specifications
Collaborate with internal teams to assess potential patent acquisition opportunities
Qualifications:
A degree in electrical engineering, physics, computer science, or a related field
At least 10 years of experience in Video Streaming Services, including areas like testing, R&D, or system implementation
In-depth technical knowledge of video streaming technologies and video coding standards, including VVC, HEVC, AV1, VP9, HDR, MPEG-DASH, HLS, CMAF, JavaScript, DRM, CDN, and transcoding
Experience with video analysis software (e.g., Elecard) and stream analysis tools (e.g., Fiddler)
Basic understanding of patent law is an advantage
Strong self-learning capabilities
Excellent collaboration skills and experience working in cross-functional teams
Highly organized, self-driven, and detail-oriented
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required
