Position Summary

Our client, who is in the media space, is looking for a Portfolio Manager to join their PMO team. In this role, you’ll help drive strategic alignment, intake governance, and portfolio visibility across 8 enterprise-wide portfolios — including 100+ project requests at various stages. You’ll report directly to the VP of the PMO and partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Executive stakeholders to optimize the value, efficiency, and impact of their project delivery processes.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have previous experience managing portfolios across an organization, and possess exceptional interpersonal skills. This is a hybrid role with 4 days onsite in their Denver office. This role is not open to sponsorships.

Responsibilities

Portfolio Oversight & Prioritization

Manage 8 cross-functional portfolios and facilitate visibility into portfolio health and resource utilization.

Lead the IDEA intake process: collect and vet requests, apply scoring models, and facilitate prioritization discussions with stakeholders.

Ensure clear hand-offs to project managers for execution after intake filtering.

Tool Administration & Process Ownership

Administer Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool — initially Asana, transitioning to Jira.

Define and manage workflows, ensure users follow intake and reporting protocols, and drive continuous improvement in tooling.

Establish best practices for intake scoring, approvals, and transitions across teams.

Reporting & Communication

Generate and present executive-level reporting and quarterly portfolio health metrics.

Work with engineering and product teams to align capacity planning, sprint visibility, and quarterly prioritization.

Translate complex data and operational insights into clear narratives for leadership.

Change Management & Organizational Enablement

Serve as a change agent to drive adoption of PMO processes and tooling.

Create templates, training materials, and process documentation for internal use.

Partner across the organization to identify blockers, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Minimum Experience

7–10 years of experience in PMO, portfolio management, or enterprise project operations.

Strong experience administering PPM tools (Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, etc.) with the ability to build and enforce custom workflows.

Demonstrated success in:

Managing cross-functional portfolios

Leading intake governance and prioritization

Capacity planning and stakeholder alignment

Clear, concise communicator with a strategic mindset and ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics.

Previous experience working in large-scale, multi-platform environments with interdependent teams (Product, Engineering, QA).

Hands-on knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.

Proven ability to influence change and engage leadership without direct authority.

Additional Plus:

Experience in the media, advertising, or streaming technology industry.

Familiarity with OKR-based planning or quarterly roadmapping.

Relevant certifications (PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or Agile/Scrum certifications).

Salary / Wage Range

$130,000/year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
