POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for the repair, maintenance, overhaul, and service of various types of small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and vehicles
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Completes intermediate to skilled tasks in maintaining and repairing small engine equipment and large equipment
Performs welding services as needed
Adjusts, overhauls, repairs, and reassembles engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, differentials, brakes, drive shafts, axels, and other assemblies
Reads and interprets manufacturer operating manuals and service specifications to complete repair and maintenance tasks
Responds to roadside service calls as needed and coordinates towing service as appropriate
Tests, diagnoses, and repairs large equipment to include diesel powered automobiles, tractors, dump trucks, excavators, heavy trucks, and other heavy construction equipment
Completes all repairs to high standards of safety and quality
Schedules and conducts regular preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on any/all company equipment
Observes or monitors equipment to determine compliance with prescribed operating or safety standards
Completes maintenance reports, work orders, and any other required paperwork
Maintains a clean and safe work site including proper maintenance and care of all company equipment
Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
Position may perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE
High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience as a Mechanic; 3–5 years of general repair and maintenance experience strongly preferred
Basic maintenance welding experience is a plus
Landscaping knowledge is a bonus
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Proficient in efficiently disassembling and reassembling various types of equipment
Skilled in troubleshooting and adapting to resolve mechanical or operational issues quickly

Indoor and outdoor conditions
Extended work hours during peak seasons
Requires substantial physical activity performing strenuous activities of a productive and technical nature; moderate exposure to outdoor weather conditions of extreme heat and extreme cold; consistent exposure to loud noise; potential exposure to air pollution, allergens, dust, pollen, insects, and other potentially harmful naturally occurring hazards; continuous exposure to moving mechanical parts and sharp objects
