Database Architect

Optomi, in partnership with a leading logistics client, is seeking a Database Architect to join their growing team. This role requires a highly skilled individual with a deep understanding of database architecture, stored procedures, and automation in SQL Server environments. The right candidate will play a critical role in designing, optimizing, and securing database systems to ensure high performance and scalability.

Experience of the right candidate:

Proven experience as a Database Architect, Data Architect, or similar role with a focus on relational databases.

Strong proficiency in SQL, including SSIS, T-SQL, and SQL Server.

Experience implementing CI/CD practices for database changes, including version control and automated testing.

Deep understanding of database design principles, data modeling, and normalization techniques.

Knowledge of Azure cloud hosting and monitoring best practices for databases.

Experience with performance tuning and query optimization for high-traffic environments.

Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance regulations.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving business needs.

Background in the Airlines or Hospitality industry is a plus.

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

Design and implement efficient database architectures aligned with business requirements.

Analyze and document existing database schemas, including tables, relationships, stored procedures, and data types.

Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and functions for optimal database performance.

Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate SQL deployments and ensure consistency across environments.

Collaborate with application developers to create high-performance database solutions.

Perform database modeling, data mapping, and migration tasks.

Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary optimizations.

Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards.

Stay up to date with emerging database technologies and best practices to inform strategic decisions.
