High Meadows School in Roswell, Georgia, approximately 30 minutes north of Atlanta, for a full-time, 12-month (occasional weekends and holidays as needed), Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (with an hour unpaid lunch), School Custodian. This is a non-exempt position for purposes of FLSA meaning you are eligible for overtime pay after working 40 hours in one week. The hourly rate for this position is $14/hr to $16/hr based on experience

Summary of School Custodian Responsibilities
Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
Performs heavy cleaning duties.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.
Gathers and empties trash.
Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
Cleans windows and mirrors with soap and other cleansers.
Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.
Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.
Notifies Facility Manager of any repairs needed.
Essential Skills:
Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals
Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
Communication skills
Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights
Minimum Education/Prior Experience/Qualifications Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic math skills
At least 1 year working in a custodial or related field
Must be able to pass a background check
Must have reliable transportation
The Campus
High Meadows School sits on 42 wooded acres in Roswell. The school is housed in several buildings spread across the two meadows on the property. We have an active barnyard on campus, serving as the home for horses, sheep, bunnies, and chickens. Faculty and staff must be comfortable traveling between buildings in all types of weather, participating in outdoor activities on the meadows and in the forest, and intermingling with animals.
