We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with at least 5 years of experience to
join our team as a full-time contractor in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate must have a
strong background in mechanical design, simulation and CAD/CAM software like
SolidWorks or Solid Edge. Knowledge of working with CNC machines and CNC
programming is essential. The engineer will be responsible for participating in the
mechanical design process, conducting flow and tension simulations, preparing
engineering drawing files and optimizing design for outsourced manufacturing. Some
parts will be manufactured in house using CNC machines, where the previous hands on
experience working with physical machines and parts is essential.
This role will focus on the design and manufacturing of Airlift product line, ensuring the highest standards in engineering, quality and performance. The person in this role will contribute to the design from concept to final manufacturing drawings and production processes.
Responsibilities
Develop and design of mechanical components and systems
Utilize SolidWorks for 3D modeling, simulation, and design optimization
Operate and program CNC machines for manufacturing
Manage project timelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Optimize designs to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Actively participate in the prototyping and testing of Company’s technology and products
Be a technical liaison between the Company and contract manufacturing partners
Take a major role in assembly and test of Company’s products
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical design and engineering
Proficiency in SolidWorks or Solid Edge, flow simulation, CAD/CAM, and FEA tools
Knowledge and experience with CNC machines and their programming
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
