Job Summary
The Events Coordinator, as part of the Development team, works in collaboration with DSF Program, Development, and Marketing & Communications teams, to create and execute events that will further DSF’s mission by engaging DPS High School Students, DSF Scholars, DSF Alumni, community partners, and prospective and current individual and corporate donors. The Events Coordinator is responsible for supporting all aspects of event planning for all events. DSF's Access Program refers to programming in DPS high schools. DSF's Success Program refers to work on the Auraria Campus, work with other college partners, and engagement with DFS Alumni.
Division of Time and Effort
60%- Access Program Event Management- Supports the planning, coordination, production, implementation, logistics and reporting for the majority of DSF Access Program events. This includes supporting events at all 15 Future Center schools.
20%- Success Program Event Management- Supports Success Program efforts and events as needed with a focus on DSF Alumni activities. This includes providing our team on the Auraria campus with event support, supporting events with other college partners, and alumni efforts.
20%- Supports Development events as necessary, including partnership and workforce connectivity events, the DSF Gala, introductory events, and stewardship events.
Responsibilities & Day-to-Day Activities:
Works in collaboration with DSF Director of Events and DSF Events Manager to produce high-caliber events while keeping DSF/JEDI (Justice, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) values top of mind.
Works in collaboration with the DSF Director of Events and DSF Events Manager to assist and support all organizational events as needed (Development, MarComm, Board of Directors, Associate Board, etc.).
Support a majority of event-related administrative tasks including fielding event requests, reserving transportation for field trips, arranging catering for events, booking event/venue space, etc.
Support gathering of event supplies and event set-up which may require loading vehicles, moving tables and chairs, decorating, and cleaning up
Support event specific marketing, communications, and graphic design requests
Staff events throughout our various DSF Future Centers and College (Campus) Partners (this may include after-hour and weekend events)
Organize creation and distribution of event kits for DSF Future Centers and college campuses as needed
Assist with sourcing DSF swag
Provide thought partnership and support with all DSF events. Ex: DSF Gala, financial aid workshops, career exposure events, and introductory events
Maintain vendor relationships. Ex: catering, charter bus organization, event rentals, etc.
Serve as a member of DSF’s Parent and Family Engagement (PFEC) and attend all meetings
Support the planning and execution of DSF & DPS Explores Auraria Day
Other duties as assigned

Position requires strong organizational skills, self-motivation, detail orientation and ability to prioritize and use effective time management skills
Demonstrates resourcefulness and creativity
Strong written and oral communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Working knowledge of Canva
Access to working vehicle and valid driver's license
Physical demands involve moving materials and equipment up to 30 pounds
A sense of humor, tolerance for change, and a demonstrated ability to create a positive culture and sense of empowerment
Ability to attend scheduled evening and weekend work
Experience working with diverse populations (including diversity in race/ethnicity, cultural background, language, immigration status, and socio-economic status)
Commitment to the DSF mission

Spanish fluency (oral and written)
Education and Experience
1-2 years of experience in a related field, Bachelors degree or Technical Certificate with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-2 years of experience with nonprofit event planning, managing, and execution

Hybrid position- 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
