Job Responsibilities

The State Planner III conducts studies and advises public administrators on the feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory aspects of proposals in resilience. Conducts studies and develops proposals for special projects or ongoing programs. Collects relevant data for use in the evaluation and analysis of planning problems. Participates in meetings and public hearings for the purpose of making recommendations and explaining plans. Provides professional and advisory assistance to local, regional, and state officials for the implementation of planning recommendations. Coordinates professional-level assignments within various project planning areas.

Responsibilities of the State Planner III:

Assist in the development and maintenance of the Strategic Statewide Risk Reduction and Resilience Plan.

Assist in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures that govern the Disaster Relief and Resilience Reserve Fund.

Coordinate with stale. federal, and local agencies to ensure appropriate stakeholder engagement for an SCOR planning activities.

Participate in meeting and public hears related to the planning process.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in planning or a related field and experience as a professional planner.

Additional Requirements:

Position may require overnight travel.

Position may require employee to work evenings and weekends.

Position requires routine driver duties.

Position requires frequent lifting of 20 lbs.

Position requires non-essential declaration.

Position may be required to report to work during emergency situations.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Work is performed in an office environment, but travel and field work will be required in areas where there are some risks and hazards that are known, predictable, and controllable.
