Description
The Inventory Control Specialist controls the outflow and inflow of the tool crib / company store inventory, is responsible for cycle counting and leads the investigation when discrepancies are found to ensure optimal inventory is available.
Reporting Relationships
The Inventory Control Specialist reports to the Category Manager and has no direct reports.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Leads and controls the outflow and inflow of tool crib/company store inventory.
Responsible for loading, organization and storage activities to ensure inventory is available.
Performs inventory counts per a defined schedule and supply inventory adjustment feedback to Category Manager based on results of inventory counts.
Investigates inventory discrepancies and shortages to determine root cause and corrective action.
Utilizes ERP system to keep accurate inventory levels.
Aids in developing and implementing control policies and procedures as well as planning activities that relate to inventory control.
Assist Category Manager in development & maintenance of proper inventory control metrics.
Assist Production Supervisors with compilation and reporting of manufacturing and inventory control metrics.
Train manufacturing personnel on proper usage of tool crib systems and processes.
Flexibility of work schedule required as needed to support training on all three shifts.
Utilize 5S methodology for management of tool crib organization.
Work with Buyer and requisitioner to resolve delivery discrepancies, quality issues and returns.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
Upholds and adheres to the Tosoh SMD culture and Guiding Principles.
Exhibits positivity and flexibility when assigned a new task or project.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent.
Procurement, Inventory Control or Manufacturing experience beneficial.
Understanding of inventory control methods and techniques beneficial.
Skills and Qualifications
Effective communication and interpersonal skills within a diverse workforce.
Ability to partner with multiple departments in pursuit of shared goals.
Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools, primarily Microsoft Excel
Obtain forklift certification is required. Tosoh will supply training.
Must show analytical, mathematical, and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated strong planning and organization, critical thinking skills.
Able to manage multiple priorities is needed.
Knowledge of ERP system is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to walk, sit and stand for extended periods.
Able to lift 30 lbs.
Wear personal protective equipment as required.
