QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER-METALS Planned, organized, and directed the activities of Quality functions, including operations, staffing, controls, and procedures, by the quality management system.
Develop, implement, and maintain inspection instructions and procedures.
Work with engineering to establish inspection operations and procedures as part of process specifications.
Coordinate requirements for inspection tooling, fixtures, gages, and equipment with Engineering.
Ensure that the processes needed for the Quality Management System are established, documented, implemented, and maintained.
Work with functional management to design, develop, and implement operational procedures.
Administer and oversee the training of management personnel in procedures applicable to the quality management system.
Know and adequately execute all procedures defined by the organization's training matrix.
Develop and maintain a sufficient level of competence (skills and abilities) for self and subordinates at all levels through formal on-the-job training.
Establish goals and develop action plans with subordinates.
Review and evaluate their performance periodically.
Promote the awareness and understanding of the Quality Policy and Quality Management System throughout the organization.
Work with customers to ensure that quality requirements and specifications are communicated and understood throughout the supply chain.
Maintain, control, and calibrate metrology tools and gages.
As necessary, procure the required master, working gauges, and instrumentation.
Oversee and coordinate the inspection of the product from raw material, first article submissions, production operations, and finished castings.
Administer Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) systems and Continual Improvement programs.
Interacted with internal/external customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
Perform as a lead or internal auditor to support the Quality Management System.
Maintain required records, controls, plans, and information for effective operation of the department.
Conduct regularly scheduled management review meetings on the status of the quality management system within the organization.
Conduct regularly scheduled operator-level training/communication.
Take direction from the President regarding organizational goals, policies, procedures, personnel, and staffing.
Must be proficient with ERP systems such as B&L Odyssey.
Summary of the successful candidate: The Quality Manager should have at least four years of experience implementing and maintaining quality management systems and auditing.
The Quality Manager should possess a thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes within a die-casting environment.
The Quality Manager must also be proficient with business application software such as Office and Visio (or other flow chart programs). The Quality Manager should have a BS in Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience) and managerial training.
Must be well-versed in designing, implementing, and maintaining ISO Quality Management Systems and procedures.
The Quality Manager must know blueprint interpretation, geometric tolerance principles, and mechanical metrology techniques.
Should be proficient with business application software programs.
Must be able to read and write in English.
